In 3 months, 2460 offenders were fined for non-compliance with the established emission standards
Employees of the Department of Environmental Supervision of the Ministry of Environment Protection and Agriculture have been monitoring the emissions of motor vehicles moving in 4 big cities of Georgia – Tbilisi, Rustavi, Kutaisi, and Batumi, since September 4.
In 3 months after the implementation of the law, 2460 offenders were fined by the moving crews of the department for non-compliance with the established norms of vehicle emissions.
The employees of the department detected the most – 1149 violations in Tbilisi, 525 violations were recorded in Kutaisi, 432 – in Batumi, and 354 – in the city of Rustavi. Out of 2460 penalty receipts, 2114 receipts were written in the name of an individual.
In 346 cases, the employees of the environmental supervision department fined legal entities.
It should be noted that 1451 fine receipts have been drawn up for car drivers, 851 for minibus drivers, 157 for truck drivers, and 1 for bus drivers.
In the case of a natural person, the amount of the fine is 100 GEL for the first time, 300 GEL for the second time, and 600 GEL for the third time, for non-compliance with the norms established by the legislation of vehicle emissions. In the case of a legal entity, the fine is 500, 1500, and 3000 GEL. If the fine is paid within 10 days, the amount of the fine will be reduced by 20%.
